Developments in the Mohawk Valley Labor Market
Change in Nonfarm Jobs since June 2023
For the 12-month period ending June 2024, the nonfarm job count in the Utica-Rome metro increased 2,200, or 1.8%, to 125,800. Private sector employment grew 1,300, or 1.4%, to 95,500.
Job gains were posted in private education and health services (+1,500), government (+900), and mining, logging, and construction (+200).
Job losses occurred in manufacturing (-200) and trade, transportation, and utilities (-200).
