Developments in the Finger Lakes Labor Market
Private sector jobs in the Rochester metro area increased by 5,800 or 1.3 percent, to 454,900 in the year ending May 2024. The largest gains were in private education and health services (+3,800), leisure and hospitality (+2,900), financial activities (+500), mining, logging and construction (+400) and other services (+200). Job losses were centered in professional and business services (-1,400) and information (-500).
