Received a message that your account has been selected for additional authentication:

If you receive the following error, your NY.gov account was administratively disabled by DOL or another state agency.

If you are logging in to certify for unemployment benefits, please take the following steps:

  1. This week, you must certify over the phone by calling 888-581-5812 for Ul benefits. You will need your social security number (SSN) and Personal Identification Number (PIN). As a reminder, you can certify for last week's benefits between Sunday and Saturday of this week.
  2. To complete your NY.gov authentication process, please call our Contact Center at 800-833-3000 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

If you are logging in to access any other New York State purpose, please contact the appropriate agency for your application using the information found on the Agency Assistance Contact Information page.

 

Received an error message after entering your Social Security Number:

If you receive the following error message while attempting to access Unemployment Services Online (after entering your Social Security Number), you have another NY.gov account and that account was used to access Unemployment Services in the past.  NY.gov accounts can be used to sign into multiple NYS agencies. You may have multiple NY.gov accounts, but only one DOL Account can be associated with your Social Security Number (SSN).

  • You should log out and log back in using the NY.gov username that you used in the past to access Unemployment services online.
  • If you do not know the username you can use self-services to have your username emailed to you.  You will need to enter your first name, last name, and email address.  Any username(s) matching this combination will be sent to the email address you provided.  To recover your username, go to Forgot Username Self Service.
  • Please note when using self-services, to recover your username make sure you provide the email address associated with the NY.gov account that you used for Department of Labor Online Services in the past.  If you have more then one email address and you are not sure which one was used for your Labor Online Services account, you should use the Forgot Username Self Service and check each email address that you might have used.
  • If you do not have access to the email address that is associated to the NY.gov account, you used to access Unemployment services in the past you will need to call our Contact Center at 800-833-3000 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
