Youth Can Apply By 12/31 & Businesses Can Apply By 11/30
Originally launched in 2012, the goal of the New York Youth Jobs Program is to help young people entering the world of work have a successful start.
Participants receive critical workforce skills that will serve them well into their careers. Once a Young New Yorker is certified to participate in the New York Youth Jobs Program, a counselor can help connect them with opportunities at participating, certified businesses. You can start earning a paycheck, get valuable work experience and start down a possible career path right away.
Additionally, participating businesses receive tax credits upwards of $7,500 per eligible hire. Initially limited to 13 target areas, the program was re-authorized through 2027 and expanded statewide.
This program is designed for individuals between the ages of 16 and 24. As a heads up, 16 and 17 year-olds must be on track to earn their high school diploma or equivalency certificate and receive permission from a guardian.
If you're unemployed and seeking full-time work, or employed in a job that doesn't align with your skill set and interests, this program could be right for you. We want Young New Yorkers to find appropriate and meaningful work.
