Nancy Harrington, Deputy Commissioner for Employment Security

As the Deputy Commissioner for Employment Security, Nancy Harrington is responsible for the oversight, policy direction, leadership, and administration of the New York State Unemployment Insurance (UI) Program. 

Career Background: Nancy has more than 20 years of experience managing federally funded programs and building stakeholder collaboration to achieve project success and have a positive, sustainable impact on the community.  She has prior experience with the Teamsters Labor Union, managing Department of Labor programs for the City of Chicago and most recently serving as Executive Director of CARES of NY, Inc. in Albany. 

Education: Nancy holds a Masters of Social Welfare from the University at Albany and a BA in Economics from Loyola University Maryland.
