Back to Contractor Registry

To register, contractors and subcontractors must submit an application through NYSDOL’s Contractor Registry portal, available through the agency’s Management System for Protecting Worker Rights (MPWR). Here's what to do:

  1. Be sure you have all of the required documentation. (View needed materials)
  2. Create an NY.gov ID to access the Contractor Registry online application athttps://my.ny.gov/ or log on using a pre-existing NY.gov ID (do NOT create a new account if you already have an NY.gov ID).
  3. Navigate to NYSDOL’s MPWR.
  4. Log into MPWR using your NY.gov ID.
  5. Select ‘New Request’ and then select ‘Public Work Contractor Certificate’ from the list of applications available in MWPR.

Online Registration

PLEASE NOTE:

A $200 nonrefundable fee is required at the time of registration. New York State certified Minority or Woman-owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) pay a reduced nonrefundable fee of $100 at the time of registration. There is an additional credit card processing fee of $1.97.

NYSDOL estimates it may take approximately 3-4 weeks to review a registration application and issue a Certificate of Registration. Registration is not valid until a Certificate of Registration has been issued. Providing incomplete or inaccurate information will delay the issuance of a Certificate of Registration.

Each registration certificate is valid for two calendar years from the date of issuance. Contractors and subcontractors must renew their registration at least 90 days before the expiration date of their current registration. Contractors and subcontractors may access their Certificate of Registration or check on the status of an application at any time through the Contractor Registry portal.
