Exploring Occupations by Green Topic

Overview

The “Green Topics” dashboard was created to assist job seekers, educators, and training providers identify skills and occupations within the clean energy economy.

The dashboard includes 72 green topics and over 300 occupations.

How to Use the Dashboard

The dashboard is designed to filter occupations based on the Green Topic. In the upper lefthand box, “Number of Green Occupations by Topic (alphabetical)” there are 72 Green Topics to select. Each topic has a bar accompanied by a number. The number accompanying the bar is the number of occupations within a topic.

Once a Green Topic (e.g., Agriculture) is selected the box on the upper right, “Green Occupation in” will populate with the topic you selected.

The occupations within a Green Topic will be listed with their O*Net Code and Occupational Title.

Once an occupation (e.g., Natural Sciences Mangers) is selected Occupational Details will populate. These include:

  • Education
  • Daily Tasks
  • NYS Labor Market Information – Not available for every occupation
  • Most Important Skills
