Electricians Recruit Apprentices

USIS Electric, Inc. will conduct a recruitment from May 15, 2023 through May 10, 2024 for 24 Electrician apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today.

Please note that the 24 openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for two recruitment regions – the Hudson Valley and New York City regions of the state.

Applications will be available at USIS Electric, Inc., 35 West Jefferson Avenue, Pearl River, NY, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Applicants must apply in person and allow up to one hour for the application process to be completed. All applications must be received no later than May 10, 2024.

The Committee requires that applicants:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma (such as TASC or GED), including one year of high school algebra.
  • Must verbally attest to being physically able to perform the work of an Electrician, which may include:
    • Lifting up to 50 pounds
    • Carrying 25 pounds
    • Climbing ladders
    • Pulling cable
    • Standing 90% of the time and sitting approximately 10% of the time
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from various job sites and required classes at the approved school.
  • Must be a resident of Orange, Putman, Rockland, and Westchester counties of New York or Bergen County in New Jersey.

Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner.
