Unemployment Insurance claim complete? Protect your benefit rights.
To protect your benefit rights, and to receive your weekly benefits, please read this page carefully. You will be mailed an important information notice; a form advising you of your weekly benefit amount; and a handbook for the claim you have just filed. Read this material carefully, as it explains what you must do to receive your payments.
Please note, you may need to take an extra step to avoid delays in receiving your benefits. If you received benefits on a prior claim by using a debit card and you no longer have the card, or if your card has expired, you must call KeyBank at 1-866-295-2955 to get a new card. If you filed this claim by telephone and you received benefits on a prior claim by direct deposit, any benefits due to you on this claim will go to the bank account we have on file. If your bank account has changed, please immediately update your banking information by using our website.
You must claim benefits for each week you are unemployed and seek benefits. You can do this online at www.labor.ny.gov/signin or by calling our Tel-Service line at 1-888-581-5812. You should respond to any questionnaires, messages, or phone calls from us as quickly as possible. Failure to do so will delay your claim or result in the denial or suspension of your benefits.
Our secure website is the fastest and most convenient way to find out when your most recent payment was released or to see a history of all payments made on your claim. The Telephone Claims Center processes your claim for unemployment insurance benefits. It is the only office that may answer questions about your claim. All of the information you just heard in this announcement is available in the information notice and handbook that are being mailed to you.
