THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR ANNOUNCES WORKFORCE SCHEDULER FOR JOB SEEKERS

Time-saving Tool Helps Customers Manage Upcoming Appointments and Connect with NYSDOL

The New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) today announced its Workforce Scheduler, a new self-service website to help customers better manage access to the wide range of no-cost career services offered by the Department.

New York State Department of Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon said, “The new Workforce Scheduler is just one of many recent innovative technological upgrades the Department has implemented as part of our ongoing efforts to better serve New Yorkers. Whether you are new to the workforce or navigating a career change, this convenient tool makes it easier to stay on top of necessary appointments and connect with staff while receiving vital career services.”

The Workforce Scheduler allows customers to:

  • Schedule and reschedule career center appointments;
  • Choose to receive timely email and text message reminders;
  • View important meeting notices and access appointment letters and links;
  • Sign up for local workshops; and
  • Connect with NYSDOL staff.

All New Yorkers are eligible for free career services through NYSDOL and can use the Workforce Scheduler to manage their appointments and facilitate their job search. Services include networking tips, resume writing and interview preparation, and access to virtual and in-person career centers and job fairs. Career counselors are available for all job seekers. Workforce Scheduler allows the Department to more efficiently and quickly notify customers of appointments or status changes.

The Workforce Scheduler is part of the Department’s continued effort to provide a more user-friendly experience. Other upgrades underway include creating a new digital working papers system to make it easier for young New Yorkers to join the workforce. The Department’s Registered Apprenticeship program is also undergoing technological upgrades that allow businesses to create and edit apprenticeship agreements, eliminating the need for physical paperwork.
