Registration Information for Contractors and Subcontractors

The information below is for contractors and subcontractors submitting bids or performing construction work on public work projects or private projects covered by Article 8 of the Labor Law. Contractors and subcontractors need to register before submitting any new bids or commencing new work on a covered project. NYSDOL encourages all contractors and subcontractors to register as soon as possible to obtain a Certificate of Registration to avoid negatively impacting a bidding period or project schedule.

If you are a member of the public looking to view contractor registration data, visit the Contractor and Subcontractor Registry Dashboard.

Certified Payroll:  Starting December 31, 2025, all contractors and subcontractors working on projects covered by Article 8 of NYS Labor Law must provide certified payroll records to the New York State Department of Labor through the Certified Payroll portal. Learn more at the Certified Payroll web page.
