Mission
The Blaster Examining Board exists to ensure that all applicants for a blaster license possess the necessary knowledge and experience by strictly reviewing their qualifications.
In practice, the Board reviews the exams, experience, and professional qualifications of workers applying for a blaster license. Based on these reviews, they may make formal recommendations to the Commissioner of Labor regarding the granting of licenses.

The members serve without salary or other compensation. They are eligible for reimbursement for qualifying expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.

The Commissioner shall appoint an examining board, which shall consist of at least three members. In addition to the requirements of Subpart 61-1.6, at least one member of such board shall be a certified blaster and at least one other member of such board shall be a representative of explosive manufacturers.
