Apprentices have a job from day one with hands-on learning from experts and supplemental related instruction. Other benefits include:
- Structured training with a known and predictable pathway;
- Salary steps over time;
- Being part of a larger corporate community;
- Little-to-no loan debt;
- A credential upon completion.
If you are an individual/jobseeker interested in learning more about Registered Apprenticeship, please email us at [email protected] or visit a nearby New York State Career Center and speak with a career counselor.
Sponsors & Programs
Opportunities across the state. Employers, organizations and other entities provide hands-on technical training which lead apprentices toward a rewarding career.
Youth Apprenticeship
NYSDOL is increasing awareness about Registered Apprenticeships and pathways into them, including career exploration and pre-apprenticeship programs. Registered Apprenticeship programs are open to individuals as young as 16 years old while they're still in high school. DOL is working to ensure that high school students understand what apprenticeship is and how it can prepare them for incredible careers. We have a poster for schools to hang and an Introduction to Apprenticeship presentation that is aimed at P-12 school leaders, parents, teachers, students, counselors and staff.
